Janet organised a sustainability, climate change and local biodiversity workshop for primary school students in her Electorate during Conservation Week 2010.
Held on 26 October between 9 and 11 am, 21 students from 7 out of the 9 primary schools in the Electorate attended the workshop. Representatives from the Conservation Council and the Millennium Kids presented at the workshop.
The students engaged in discussions regarding climate change and the Swan River. Activities were organised to identify how the students, their friends and families could help reduce the impact of climate change. The students were also treated to a hands-on session with bobtail lizards where they learned about the animal and how to protect them.
It is hoped that the students will share the knowledge gained with their friends and families.
